Jerry, Adair, Meghann, and Asia Renning are proud to announce the first printing of The Ultimate Treasure Hunt. Begun in 1982 after the arr ival of our first daughter, Meghann, the book is the story of Asia's struggles with a colostomy, and what we believe to be acquired autism. Considered at first to be too institutionalized to be able to bond with a family, Asia responded well when final ly placed in a foster home in Korea. We adopted her when she was 2 years old. Her labels over the years include Educable Mentally Impaired (EMI), Emotionally Impaired (EI), Speech and Language Impaired (SLI), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD), and last, Autistically Impaired (AI). Treatment for Leaky Gut Syndrome, under the direction of C.A. Kotsanis, M.D, of Dallas, Texas, is the latest in a series of successful interventions, and has directly addressed digestive p roblems which have plagued Asia all of her life. The final chapter of The Ultimate Treasure Hunt details the search for answers, and the treatment protocol developed by Dr. Kotsanis. Other effective treatments include food and environmental alle rgy testing and treatment, mega-vitamins, and auditory integration therapy. Asia's progress continues to amaze us.
